Safety Leadership Training
What does safety leadership mean, how does it impact culture, what does safety leadership look like? We offer a safety leadership training, that is presented in a one-day, 8 hour format. This training can be customized for all levels of an organization; safety committees, supervisors, managers and executives. Have you received safety leadership training in the past that did not have sustainable results? We can provide proactive leadership metrics that ensures your organization is expecting and measuring the correct safety KPIs to drive results.
Confined Space Training
This one-day confined space training utilizes the 3M course curriculum and is recognized by all provincial regulators. The confined space training will address principles and concepts of confined space safety and examine the roles of the attendant and entrant. A variety of instructional techniques, including challenge questions, workbook exercises, case studies, and practical learning applications will be used to educate course participants. The training is suited for workers who serve as the confined space attendant, the confined space entrant or supervisors of confined space entries.
Incident Investigation Training
If a workplace incident results in an injury, or could have caused a serious injury, employers have specific regulatory responsibilities. Incident investigations help identify the cause while finding ways to prevent reoccurrence. Our Incident Investigation training can be presented in a 4 or 8 hour course that introduces participants to their applicable OHS regulation, how to respond to incidents, teaches investigative interview skills, determining causal factors, root cause and how to get value from your actions. This incident investigation training can be customized for all levels of an organization.
Hazard ID & Risk Assessment Training
Our hazard identification and risk assessment training can be facilitated in a 4 or 8 hour session. In this course participants will learn how to identify hazards and how to complete a quantified risk assessment. Once the risk assessment is complete, participants will discuss which control measures should be in place to effectively eliminate or mitigate the risk. The Uplift Safety team uses personal experiences of workplace incidents to immerse the learner in real world examples. Participants will leave the hazard identification training with a new understanding and perspective of workplace hazards.
Safety Committee (JHSC) Training
This 8 hour training meets the WorkSafeBC regulation for new safety committee member training. This training will introduce new safety committee members to the basic principles of workplace health and safety, it also serves as a great refresher training for existing, experienced, safety committee members. In this training participants will learn; the legal responsibilities, duties and functions of the Joint Committee, health and safety legislation, rights & responsibilities, key elements of having an effective committee, the process of evaluation, how to complete a workplace inspection and incident investigation.
Equipment Safeguarding Training
Similar to hazard identification and risk assessment, our equipment safeguarding training can be presented in a 4 or 8 hour format focusing specifically on equipment hazards. Based on the CSA Z432 standard and the applicable provincial regulations this training takes a deep dive into equipment hazards, the associated risk rating and the control measure necessary to reduce risk. We will introduce the CSA Z432 safeguarding risk assessment tool and complex guarding options such as light curtains, presence sensing devices, and safety rated equipment interlocks.
Industrial Safety Supervision Training
Front-line supervision is the most important position in the entire organization. The Supervisor works directly with the front line to achieve the organization's goals. Supervisor's need to understand their role, their legal rights, and responsibilities and how important it is to be present in the workplace. Using adult learning principles, this 2 day training, will teach your Supervisors how to be safety leaders, to engage your workforce and drive positive operational results. Your supervisors will leave this training with the understanding and confidence to be effective leaders in today's evolving workplace.
Fall Protection Training
Fall protection training can be completed as a half or full day course. Utilizing the 3M curriculum, both courses are recognized by provincial regulators. The half day fall protection training is suited for those who work at height in a specific situation with an established approved anchor point using basic connectors and body supports. The full day fall protection training is suited for those who perform work duties at height in various situations and will be responsible for selecting and utilizing the appropriate system components.
Asbestos Safety Training
Level 1 Asbestos Awareness Course: This one day training has been established to provide asbestos awareness to individuals and companies that could encounter asbestos materials during typical work related duties. This course provides you with WorkSafeBC Level 1 Certification.
Level 2 Asbestos Safety Abatement Course: This three day training was established to provide abatement workers with the training they need to safely complete asbestos abatement work. This course provides you with WorkSafeBC Level 2 Certification.
