Asbestos Safety Training

WorkSafeBC is implementing mandatory training for asbestos abatement workers to help keep you safe from the dangers of asbestos. Starting on January 1, 2024, anyone doing asbestos abatement work in B.C. will need to have certification from an approved training provider.

Level 1 Course

This one-day Asbestos Fundamentals training is required for those who transport and/or dispose of asbestos waste. It is also recommended for those who do not require a certificate but would benefit from general asbestos safety knowledge.

Level 2 Course

This three-day Asbestos Safety training (includes level 1 prerequisite) is required for those who complete asbestos abatement work. This course includes two days of classroom learning and a one day practical demonstration.
